If I could give a ZERO I would because the whole experience was horrible. I had to have a tooth extraction so my dentist sent me here. Before I got there I was told that Dr. Luiza Portnoff was the best oral surgeon THEY LIED. The first day I was just going to get numbed so that she could remove the tooth. after I was numb I was still feeling it. She tells me she'll numb me directly in the tooth which evermn more painful. Let's just say I have never been in this much pain JUST to get numbed. The pain that I was now feeling was unbearable so I told her give me a minute and instead of her stopping she tries to proceed. I had to literally take her hand out my mouth and remove the spacer from the inside of my mouth. So I decided to come back and be put to sleep. Upon waking up I was under the impression that the extraction went well, but when I woke up the following day and I was still numb I knew something wasn't right. Today 2/27/25 is now 3 weeks of me being numb YES I SAID 3 WEEKS after antibiotics and a steroids were give to correct this issue but neither helped. I then go in for a consultation to find out what was going on and all she did was had me close my eyes and she asked if I could feel what she was doing and I barely did. Do you know that I was charged over $100 just for her to tell me it could last for months or even longer. I really could've been told that over the phone. I have never had such a bad experience before. Dr. Luiza Portnoff is very rude and unprofessional and I would never go back even if I was seeing someone else. She needs to attend a customer service class because she has absolutely no customer service skills.

I recently had a deeply concerning experience with Arrowhead Dental Specialists. I was referred by VA Loma Linda Healthcare for a tooth extraction, specifically tooth #14, to be conducted by an oral surgeon. Initially, the team seemed friendly and informative. They prepped me with nitrous oxide and topical anesthetic, but this is where the ordeal started. Dr. Luiza Portnoff came in without any formal introduction or explanation of the procedure. She proceeded to inject a needle on the opposite side of where the topical anesthetic was applied. When I raised my concerns, her reaction was not just unprofessional but, frankly, shocking. Instead of apologizing, she admonished me, claiming I had bent her needle. One of her assistants finally admitted that they had applied the topical anesthetic to the wrong tooth (#4 instead of #14). When I expressed my frustration and insisted that the extraction go as planned, considering the significant payment from the VA, Dr. Portnoff decided to abort the procedure. The office manager, who incorrectly told me Dr. Portnoff was the only oral surgeon available, then rescheduled my appointment for the next week, citing Dr. Portnoff's emotional state as the reason. This was a clear deviation from the professionalism and expertise one would expect from a medical facility. In summary, my experience at Arrowhead Dental Specialists revealed shocking lapses in both clinical and interpersonal skills. Dr. Luiza Portnoff demonstrated a lack of competence, management, and people skills. The office manager was not honest about their staff credentials. It's concerning that Dr. Portnoff can practice with such clear gaps in her skill set and bedside manner. I strongly advise looking elsewhere for dental procedures.

Called to pay my bill and the representative really was unprofessional using derogatory term cause she didn’t know how to use care credit . Not worth your time and misquoted finance charge violating UDAPP compliance.

Arrowhead Dental Specialist are ok. The Dentist is super friendly and so are the Dental assistants. The front staff are friendly but they aren't reliable. As they don't respond back to phone calls or messages. They would have received 5 stars but they didn't follow through. My daughter went to see the dentist. The dentist prescribed her meds. Went to pick them up our pharmacy states that it was never called in. So I had to wait to contact the Dental office as they were closed. I left a message and when they didn't get back I called in. Talked to one of the front office ladies. She assured me she would talk to the dentist and make sure he called in and that she would contact me back. Never got any call back or anything. So needless to say you have to stay on top of them because they don't really care.
